Dr.Malakondaiah, a 1985 batch IPS Officer, retired as Director General of Police of Andhra Pradesh. Before his appointment as DGP, he had many important assignments, prominent being working as Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of APSRTC, Jt. Managing Director, Vigilance and Security of AP Transco, IGP Police Transport Organization, Chairman, State Level Police Recruitment Board. Director, AP Police Academy and Telangana State Police Academy, Joint Director, Addl. Director, Director and DG, ACB Govt. of AP during different periods.

He was the recipient of many prestigious awards like Vice-President of India Trophy for Exemplary Character and Conduct, Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service, President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, Antriksh Suraksha Medal, CISG DG’s Silver Medal, Union Home Minister’s Medal for Gazetted Officer’s Training for his distinguished services.

He had many Research Papers to his credit in the fields of Police subjects and on Electrical power to Agriculture.
